Sneads of Fluvanna, LLC
Snead family history
Three Snead brothers married three Pollard sisters and they each had seven sons. That is how our family took root in the early 1800s. The first Snead to arrive in America was Samual Snead in 1635. He traveled from England with his wife, Alice, and son William. The "weight of evidence" suggests that William's son, Charles resided in Fluvanna as early as 1740. Charles' son Archibald had a son named John who was the father of the 3 Snead brothers - William, Benjamin, and George. The 3 Snead brothers married 3 Pollard sisters and each had 7 sons. Our earliest family tree (June 1958) depicts the progeny of the 3 brothers and their wives. Historical photographs and images can be found <here>.
